THE POWER
IS IN OUR VOTE

A Clarion Call for  Voter Turnout

Fast forward two years. We could be living in a nation where Obamacare no longer exists, Social Security and Medicare are compromised, students are burdened with exorbitant debt, effective tax rates are lower on the rich and higher on the middle class,  reproductive rights are practically non-existent, Ukraine and NATO are gone,  Russia is empowered and the ecosystem is deteriorating at an accelerated pace. That’s why Partners4Democracy developed our new campaign: The Power is in Our Vote.

The MAGA Republican policies would wreak havoc on the lives of middle class families, costing them hundreds or even thousands of extra dollars a month. Wouldn’t you be really upset if you squandered your right to vote in November’s election? Think about it.  Do you want a better America for yourself and your loved ones? Even if you’re not fully committed to either candidate, don’t be apathetic. This year vote for honesty, dignity and the sacred promise of democracy.

How Project 2025 Would Affect North Carolina

from the Durham Herald-Sun

The Durham Herald-Sun reported the devastating effect the Republicans’ Project 2025 will have on North Carolina:

  • Abolishing the Department of Education will strip public schools of federal funding.
  • Dismantling federal agencies and reclassifying thousands of workers as political appointees will put 47,000 civilian federal employees living in North Carolina at risk.
  • Changes proposed to Medicaid may mean the loss of benefits and health care coverage to 900,000 Carolinians.
  • Replacing the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with a Department of Life will reduce abortion coverage for North Carolina women. The plan calls for rescinding FDA approval of abortion medication, limiting access to emergency contraception and conducting abortion surveillance on pregnancies.

Jamie Raskin Speaks Out on Youth Vote

On the evening of July 9th, Rep. Jamie Raskin joined a Partners4Democracy special event focusing on the youth vote. While there are many issues to be decided between now and the Democratic Convention, it is very clear, no matter the circumstances, the youth vote will play a critical role in the fate of America over the next four years.
